Rochdale Chairman David Kilpatrick has confirmed that they have rejected Swansea's offer for striker Grant Holt. In a brief statement, the Chairman confirmed that they had received the offer, but had decided to turn it down.
The exact amount offered by Swansea is believed to be around the £75k mark, which has proved to be the major stumbling block. Kenny Jackett and Swansea Chairman Huw Jenkins must now decide whether or not to increase their last offer, or turn their attention to other targets.
The cases of Marc Goodfellow and Andy Burgess have shown that Swansea will not be held to ransom when attempting to purchase players, which could signal the end of any deal for Grant Holt. However, Huw Jenkins told the Evening Post that Jackett has a number of transfer options and if the deal is right, then he will not hesitate to bring him to South Wales.
