Swansea have offered Ijah Anderson the opportunity to extend his current contract until the end of the season, after sufficiently impressing during the months of December and January. Anderson has found himself involved in both FA Cup ties against Reading and against Wycombe last weekend and Jackett is confident that the ex-Bristol Rovers player will accept the deal.
Anderson joined Swansea on a month-to-month basis in December as Jackett attempted to add naturally left-sided players to his squad. Making his debut in Swansea's defeat against Bury, Anderson has been used mainly as a substitute over his short Swansea career.
However, with increasing injuries in the Swansea midfield, Anderson could find himself in the starting line-up for Saturday's trip to Boston, as Jackett looks to provide in-form Leon Britton with some defensive cover. Swansea are expecting the new contract to be fully signed and sealed by the weekend.
