Swansea defender Kevin Austin is facing upto a three week layoff after pulling a hamstring at the weekend. Austin was forced off at half time in Swansea's 2-1 victory over promotion rivals Scunthorpe and will now be out of action until mid-way through March.
Austin has been a regular member of the first team since his arrival on a free transfer from Bristol Rovers in the summer, forming an excellent partnership with fellow central defenders Gary Monk and Izzy Iriekpen in the process. The defender's physical approach will no doubt be missed over the coming weeks, although the void is likely to be filled by the return of full-back Andy Gurney.
Austin will definitely miss Swansea's fixtures against Notts County and Rochdale and will be probably be targeting his side's trip to Northampton on March 19th as a possible come-back match.
