Bangor City have approached the FAW and asked them to rule over the transfer of Owain Tudur-Jones, claiming that they are owed compensation from the South Wales league club. Rules over out-of-contract young players claim that a fee must be agreed between both clubs, otherwise the selling club is entitled to compensation set by a tribunal panel.
However, Swansea believe that Owain Tudur-Jones was a free agent when they signed him last month and therefore claim that Bangor are entitled to nothing. Kenny Jackett openly stated in a newspaper interview last week that Bangor would get nothing, although he would contact the League of Wales club and see if they could arrange a friendly as a form of "thank-you".
Nevertheless, Bangor City are hoping to earn some form of compensation from the Swans in a situation that is relatively familiar to Swansea supporters...after the long-running saga of Bayo Akinfenwa was ended by a tribunal panel last week. Should the FAW rule that Bangor are entitled to something, then Chairman Huw Jenkins may look to settle the deal away from a tribunal and avoid potentially being stuck twice in one summer.
