The 25-year-old - who replaced Craig Beattie with just over 20 minutes remaining - now believes he is ready to hold down a regular first-team place after seeing his chances throughout the season hindered by a knee injury.
He told the South Wales Evening Post: "I've had a really tough season, I think I deserved another opportunity and I think I did well. I've always been ready to help the team and I've always been working hard and the gaffer knows that.
"Now I think I deserve maybe the role I played on Tuesday or maybe more in the next game. I always work hard to play in the next game.
"When you have played just two games all season, never from the start, you lack that confidence and that sharpness. But I think I performed really well and we got the three points, so that's a big reward for me and for the team."
