The club have announced that next Saturday's friendly against Premiership side Blackburn Rovers will have an increased capacity of 16,000 following the report of the Safety Advisory Group. The SAG were satisfied with events that took place at the new stadium during Saturday's friendly with Fulham and have allowed the club to increase it's maximum capacity closer to the 20,000 limit.
Swansea had been worried that standing in seating areas and supporters' ignorance of the completed stadium no-smoking rule could jeopardise the maximum attendance or perhaps even force the SAG to withdraw the safety certificate completely. However, it appears that the SAG were impressed with numerous aspects of Saturday's event, which will have included fans' reactions to steward requests, traffic around the stadium and other general safety issues.
The ticket office will begin selling remaining tickets at 11:30am on Tuesday.
