The Swans legend made a stunning return to south Wales two weeks ago having departed for Sheffield United last summer, and it felt like he had never been away on Tuesday as he put in a dazzling display in central midfield to help see off Bristol City.
He is now preparing to tread the Liberty soil for the first time since signing again and told the South Wales Evening Post: "What a first home game to be back involved in, I couldn't pick a better one.
"It's been a great game to be involved in over the years. Obviously I was gutted to miss the last one when I was at Sheffield United. I watched it on the telly and wished I was part of it. Now I'm grateful I've got the opportunity to be involved in this one.
"No team's done the double and I think that goes to show that these games are so tight and unpredictable. We won at their place but there's no guarantee we'll win again. It's going to be very tough, but it would be a great achievement if we could be the first out of the two clubs to get the double."
Elsewhere, City winger Scott Sinclair has been shortlisted for the Championship`s Player of the Month award for January.
