The Swans missed out on the top six in heartbreaking fashion last season when they managed just two wins from their last 11 matches to leave them one point behind eventual play-off winners Blackpool.
But this time the Welsh club have automatic promotion in their sights and Britton has issued a rallying call to make sure City are not left asking `what if`.
"That's one of the worst feelings you can get in football," he told the Western Mail. "To be left wondering to yourself `what if' is just horrible because it can eat away at you. You want to be in a position where you don't have any regrets, whether you're successful or not.
"Last year that wasn't the case and there were definitely games that you'd go over in your mind and look back at them thinking we should have done this or that and that we could have got the win that would have made the difference.
"Your can't put yourself in that position and at the end of this season we don't want to look back to this spell of three games - or any other - and start thinking if only we picked up more points."
