The confusion over the transfer of Andy Burgess has increased once more this morning, after Rushden claimed that they have not received any Swansea bid. Reports had claimed that the League Two outfit had rejected Swansea's £80k bid for the midfielder, yet a break-down in communication between the two clubs is now being blamed.
Swansea Chairman Huw Jenkins had slammed Rushden's Supporters Trust, who are currently running the club, after finding himself unable to contact anyone at the club following the alleged rejected bid. "We're stuck in the farcical situation where no one is available at the club to discuss the transfer", Jenkins told the Evening Post.
However, a Rushden spokesman claims that a formal bid was never received from the South Wales club and the future of Andy Burgess still remains in a state of confusion. Northampton and Championship outfit Stoke are both also thought to be tracking the midfielder's situation, yet the Swans remain favourites to clinch his signature.
