Connor Facing Swans Exit

Reports in local media are claiming that Paul Connor could be leaving his home in South Wales, after Swansea and Darlington agreed a fee for the striker. The Northern-born forward hit 13 goals and scored in all three rounds of the club's FA Cup run, as Swansea won promotion to League One last season and was the subject of an enquiry from Darlo boss Dave Hodgson last month.

Connor originally joined the club 18 months ago from Rochdale for £35k and became Brian Flynn's last move in the transfer market for the club. However, now it appears that his stay in South Wales could be over, as competition for a striking role intensifies with the recent additions of Lee Thorpe and Adebayo Akinfenwa.

In reality, Connor is likely to play second fiddle to Akinfenwa and Trundle next season and may welcome a move for more regular first team football. However, many fans will be sad to see the ex-Stoke and Middlesboro' forward leave the club, as he appears more of a natural goalscorer than Lee Thorpe.
