Swansea striker Paul Connor admitted that he was "pretty shocked" and "gutted" that Kenny Jackett had allowed an approach from League Two outfit Darlington last week, but stated that he was ready to fight for his place in the side. After discussing terms in the North-East last week, Connor opted to reject any move to Darlo and has also played down any talk of a deal with Bournemouth, stating "I want to stay here and fight for my place".
"I am just going to have to work hard as normal and see where it takes me", Connor told the Evening Post. "I have confidence in my ability so we will just have to see what happens. There were a few things why I decided against the move. It wasn't one particular thing. When you move you have to have a good feeling about it. Everything has to feel right and this didn't".
Connor has returned to training with the Swansea squad and will be hoping for a run-out in tonights Bridgwater Town friendly.
