Swansea striker Paul Connor has held talks with Darlington and is expected to sign a deal at the League Two outfit within the next 48 hours. The club accepted an undisclosed offer for Connor, which is thought to be based around a series of clauses based on Darlington's success next year, with Darlo manager David Hodgson offering the ex-Stoke and Middelsboro' striker a two year deal.
Connor hit 13 goals on the way to promotion last season, but found opportunities limited after the arrival of Lee Thorpe from Bristol City. Talking to the Western Mail, Jackett stated that the club just had too many forwards, with seven senior players all currently fighting for three spots. "Paul did well last season, scoring 13 goals for us in all, and perhaps people will say he deserved a crack at League One, but the bottom line is I had to up the all-round goal-scoring input".
