Swansea City winger David Cotterill has joined Championship rivals Portsmouth on a month-long loan deal. The Wales international has fallen down the pecking order at the Liberty Stadium and has not played since the 2-1 defeat to Leicester on 3 January.
The 23-year-old has trained with Pompey and completed his switch on Thursday.
"He has gone there for a month to get some game as David has been sitting outside the squad," Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed to BBC Sport.
Swansea signed Cotterill from Sheffield United in January 2010 for ?600,000.
He enjoyed regular starts with the Swans under former manager Paulo Sousa during the remainder of the campaign as they narrowly missed out on a play-off place.
Cotterill, who has 17 caps for Wales, scored four goals in 23 appearances under Sousa who departed last summer.
He started regularly under new boss Rodgers at the beginning of this season making 11 appearances, scoring twice.
But he has only featured five times since then with top scorer Scott Sinclair and Nathan Dyer holding down the two wing positions.
Ex-Bristol City forward Cotterill joined Wigan Athletic for ?2m in August 2006 but made just 18 Premier League appearances in 18 months.
That prompted a move to Sheffield United in July 2008 after an initial loan spell.
He struggled to hold down a first team place at Bramall Lane and left for south Wales in November 2009 on loan, before making his move permanent two months later penning a three-and-half year deal.
