Ex-Swansea youngster Richard Duffy has joined Coventry City on a three-month loan deal from Portsmouth. Duffy becomes Micky Adams' first signing since taking over the helm at Highfield Road and will go straight into the squad for the weekend's FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Newcastle.
Duffy was a product of the Swansea youth set-up, who broke into the side under Brian Flynn's management in August 2003. However, a few months later and after only a handful of impressive performances, Duffy was eventually snapped up by Harry Redknapp for a fee thought to be in the region of £100k - £250k.
Still only a teenager, Duffy spent a few months on loan at Championship outfit Burnley and will be looking to gain first-team experience after making just one appearance so far for Premiership Portsmouth. Still a fans' favourite at the Vetch, Duffy continues to return to the side that he supported as a boy to cheer on his old teammates on regular occasions.
