Swansea transfer target John Goossens has turned down a move to the Liberty Stadium and will stay with NEC Nijmegen for the rest of the season.
The Dutch midfielder's contract expires in the summer and he is not expected to sign a new one, but will now stay put until his deal expires.
A statement on the Eredivisie club's website read: "The agent of John Goossens has [on Tuesday] told NEC that John is not responding to the offer of Swansea City.
"NEC had already reached agreement with this club on a transfer but the player has chosen to see out the season at NEC Nijmegen."
Goossens has been linked with a summer move to Feyenoord.
