Swansea Chairman Huw Jenkins has confirmed that he has never even contemplated allowing Lee Trundle to leave South Wales, claiming "Lee Trundle isn't for sale. Simple as that". Speaking to the Western Mail, Jenkins stated that even if a large bid in the region of £750k was received, Swansea would still reject the offer.
"He's worth millions to us and we've no intention of letting him go", claimed Jenkins. "We don't want to sell our best players and, the way the club is being run at the moment, we don't need to".
The Chairman's comments were mainly to play down increasing speculation that a number of Championship clubs are looking to steal arguably League Two's most prized possession. With the likes of Nottingham Forest, Leeds and Burnley all linked to Trundle, Jenkins stated that Swansea would be "mad" to even consider allowing their talisman to depart South Wales. Contracted until 2007, it appears that Trundle still has a massive part to play in the future of Swansea City.
