Stuart Jones could miss Saturday's clash with Hereford United after sustaining a broken nose in Tuesday's friendly. A clash of heads caused a "clean break", but Jackett remains hopeful that the young defender may be still be able to appear at Edgar Street.
There was however better news, with Jackett declaring Kevin Austin and Bradley Maylett virtually fit. Although the manager may not risk them for Saturday's clash, he believes that they have shaken off their respective injuries. Andy Robinson is also in a similar position, after he missed Tuesday's friendly at Barry Town with a minor injury, but Jackett is likely to rest him for the Hereford friendly.
Slightly more worrying, is the lack of information coming from the club about Lee Trundle. The fact that Jackett has come forward and stated that Maylett, Austin and Robinson are "almost there" yet no mention of Trundle will make many Swans fans nervous about his latest injury. Last season's top scorer was originally only supposed to be missing for a few days with a damaged knee, but after already missing two friendlies, is in danger of losing out on the majority of pre-season.
However, I have today been informed that Lee Trundle himself has stated that he is "feeling fine" and is "looking forward and almost ready to go for the new season". Lets hope the latter is true!!
Swans MAD thanks Mike Trew for his input.
