After much speculation regarding his future, Swansea defender Izzy Iriekpen has agreed to sign a new two year deal. Izzy becomes the fourth out-of-contract player to agree to stay in South Wales, following recent announcements by Brian Murphy, Kevin Austin and Leon Britton.
Several Championship sides were said to be interested in the 23-year old, although it appears that offers from the likes of Stoke, Leicester and Plymouth never materialised. Izzy will now be definitely be returning for his third season at the club, with a deal that will most likely take him through until the summer of 2007.
Kristian O'Leary remains the only out-of-contract player yet to agree a deal with the club, although Swansea's impressive midfielder admitted that an agreement is not far away.
