Kevin Nugent has been officially unveiled as Swansea City's new assistant manager. After months of speculation, Kenny Jackett finally announced that the veteran striker would combine his role as reserve team manager with his new post.
Nugent, who was initially signed on loan by Brian Flynn in 2003, scored a number of crucial goals that eventually aided in keeping Swansea's league status intact. For much of last season, Nugent became the first choice partner to Lee Trundle due to injuries and scored his last ever Swansea goal away at Darlington on the penultimate day of last season.
Kenny Jackett has publicly stated that the club may use Nugent as a player again next season should they feel the need, yet with a potential six strikers in the squad coupled with Nugent's new promotion, this appears increasingly unlikely.
