Swansea Manager Kenny Jackett has announced that completing a deal for Martin Devaney is "doubtful", after the Cheltenham winger arrived in South Wales for contract talks on Wednesday. With Championship outfit Burnely amongst others said to be sniffing around the Robins winger, it appears that Devaney could be ready to snub the Swans and move elsewhere.
There is growing speculation that Devaney' wage demands will prove to be a stumbling block, with the winger already turning down substantial offers from Burnley and Yeovil last season. With Jackett unlikely to break the bank for a likely squad player, it seems that contract talks between the club and player may well have broken down.
Devaney himself has already commented to local media that he has other offers on the table and is waiting to see what happens in the next few days. However, the midfielder did state that after consulting his agent, he'll make a final decision over the weekend.
