Kenny Jackett stated that it would be extremely unlikely that any new faces would be added to his promoted squad in the next couple of days, claiming that he will not buy players "merely for the sake of it". Jackett was today preparing for his summer holiday abroad, yet despite stating that no new signings were imminent, the Swansea manager admitted that he would be extremely disappointed if he was unable to bring any new players in before the start of next season.
Speaking to the Evening Post, Jackett added, "At the moment I'm speaking to agents and other managers about who is available and the most important thing at what price. I'm not going to risk everything to just win another promotion. It is important that we don't take one step forward to take two steps back...we must get value for money".
Jackett also confirmed that new enquiries had been made about Rochdale's Grant Holt and Rushden's Andy Burgess, although no news is expected on the duo for some time. Jackett could be tempted to move for Bristol City's Marc Goodfellow after Brian Tinnion lowered his value for the player, while any move for Martin Devaney is now officially dead.
