Jackett Says "No" To Trialist

Welshpool winger Gary Roberts has been told by Swansea that he will not be offered a professional contract. Roberts had been on trial with the club for seven days and despite scoring in yesterday's 3-1 reserves defeat at Swindon, did not impress sufficiently to stay in South Wales on a full-time basis.

Roberts had previously attracted the interest of a number of other Coca-Cola League clubs and that of League of Wales hotshots TNS. Although Roberts remains a Welshpool player, it is thought that he will sign for TNS by the weekend.
