Swansea manager Kenny Jackett was today celebrating a year in charge at the Vetch Field and immediately outlined his intentions for the future. After a roller-coaster 12 months, his current Swansea side lie in the automatic promotion places with only five matches remaining, yet Jackett believes there is still room for improvement.
''We have made good strides", Jackett told the Evening Post, "though as yet we haven't been able to bring any Welsh talent through and that's something I want to change". ''I knew before I came that Swansea was a good club but having been here a year, I think it's fantastic".
Chairman Huw Jenkins was also quick to compliment Swansea's latest boss, claiming that he could "guarantee that over the coming months and years, Kenny will prove to be one of the best managers in the Football League". Also speaking to the Evening Post, Jenkins stated "There will be more tests to come, no doubt, but he has learned a lot in the last 12 months".
