Man of the moment Huw Jenkins has stepped back into the limelight and openly criticised West Ham United over their handling of the Gavin Williams transfer. Swansea had hoped to complete a loan deal for the Welsh International midfielder but Alan Pardew decided that he didn't want Williams playing any lower than the Championship - a decision that has annoyed Swansea's opinionated Chairman.
"It's a sad thing about football, players can lose a good opportunity when a manager thinks otherwise", Jenkins told BBC Sport, "...Alan's view is strange. If the player is comfortable moving to a club that is going forward - irrespective of the league they're in - that has to be in their best interests. It's better for someone to be playing there than not at all".
Jenkins is clearly disappointed that the club failed to secure a deal for Williams, although Pardew had made it clear since the club's initial enquiry, that the ex-Yeovil midfielder would not be playing any lower than the Championship. However, perhaps this was a rant best kept to himself as it will hardly improve relations between the two clubs.
