Jenkins Wants To Keep Prize Assets

Huw Jenkins was quoted today as stating that Swansea will be keeping all of their prize assets. The Swansea chairman claimed that none of Swansea's current stars will be leaving the club for free next summer, as the club will sort out any new contracts, etc long before expiry.

The chairman was interviewed in response to Lee Trundle's quotes in the local media yesterday, stating that he wanted to stay at Swansea and was ready to begin talking about a new contract. Jenkins claimed that Trundle is one of the club's "prize assets" and Swansea would never let him go on the cheap.

Trundle stated that he would rather start negotiations now, than leave them unitl the summer where, as a free agent, he could be tempted by a move away. However, Jenkins responded by saying that this would "never happen" and told supporters not to worry about losing their favourite players on free transfers.

Swansea also issued an apology to fans at the delay in the completion of the new club shop in the city centre. Located in the Quadrant, the new shop has been severely delayed due to building regulations, which the club claims are "out of their control".
