Swansea players have much to look forward to when they return to pre-season training next Monday, starting with a week at nearby RAF base St Athan. Jackett has enlisted the help of drill instructor Craig Gill and hopes that his players will reap the benefits later on in the season of a "punishing" fitness regime.
"Our fitness and conditioning improved last year", Jackett told the Evening Post, "...but it has to improve again and be much better if we are to stand a chance in League One. There may be a few groans but they all know what's coming...they expect it from me now".
Jackett will welcome back the same squad that won promotion to League One on the last day of last season on 4th July, with the exception of released pair Stuart Jones and Antonio Corbisiero. James Thomas will return to the club on a trial basis, whilst Matthew Gordon, Ian Ramsey, Stuart Edwards and Callum Hart all look set to join the club for pre-season training.
