Derby plan to hold talks with Swansea and Shefki Kuqi in the coming weeks about extending the striker's loan spell. The 33-year-old is with the Rams for 93 days - the maximum period a club can sign a player on an emergency loan. He is due to return to Swansea after the Championship fixture at Bristol City on December 11, but Derby are keen to take the Finland international back on loan when the transfer window opens in January. "I don't think we have too many like Shefki in the squad," said Rams boss Nigel Clough. "We haven't got any who give us that sort of presence up front. So, if he is amenable and Swansea are, we will try to look to maybe extend Shefki's loan. "We will start talking to him and Swansea in the next few weeks about what they want to do." Kuqi`s arrival at Pride Park has coincided with a four-game unbeaten run for Derby. He helped them to wins against Crystal Palace, scoring on his home debut, Middlesbrough and a draw at Barnsley. The Finn was ineligible to play against Swansea last weekend.
