Ex-Swansea trialist Ian Ramsey is set to join Championship outfit Leicester City on a similar basis, as he hopes to win a professional contract in the English Football League. Ramsey is still available on a free transfer after his departure from Sydney Utd two months ago, with Kenny Jackett opting against signing the young Australian defender.
Ramsey was one of two promising Australians given trials in South Wales when pre-season restarted at the beginning of the month, with many Ozzie fans expecting them to easily break into English professional football. However, Jackett was clearly not that impressed with what he saw and released both Ramsey and fellow Ozzie Matthew Gordon from their trial after just 10 days of training...and before the club had even played it's first pre-season friendly.
Meanwhile, trialists Stuart Edwards and Owain Tudor Jones remain on trial with the Swans and are both likely to be named on an extended bench for this weekend's home fixture against Fulham.
