Young Welsh U-21 defender Stuart Jones has admitted that he is expecting to leave the club in the summer after finding first team opportunities limited this season. Jones stated that he was "more than likely" to be departing Swansea in May, as Kenny Jackett announces his retained list to all of his players.
In an interview with the Evening Post, Jones claimed that only a knee injury stopped him being loaned out to Exeter City last month and is worried that his days at the club are numbered. Two other fringe players left the club on loan last week and, like Jones, it is likely that both will also been shown the door in the summer.
Despite finding himself in the starting eleven for the first game of the season against Northampton, Jones has played only a bit-part in Swansea's promotion push to League One. However, with several Conference sides, showing an interest in the U-21 international, it appears that he is likely to still have a future in professional football.
