Joe Allen would also have been on international duty but he has been ruled out for up to three weeks with a hamstring injury sustained in the 2-1 defeat against Leicester at the Walkers Stadium last Saturday. Tony Pennock should feature on the bench as reserve for Dorus de Vries.
Andrea Orlandi is hoping to start tonight's game, and in an interview with the Evening Post he said:
"I am still waiting for a run in the team, but I am working on it.
"I have to play well when the gaffer gives me a chance and I will try to do that tonight if I am picked.
"He has talked to me about playing in midfield, on the wing or behind the striker.
"I was playing behind the striker when I was at Barcelona and I need to get used to it again, but I feel okay in that position.
"On the wing you need more pace so I am not a proper winger in a way, but hopefully this new position is going to be good for me."
Liam Dickinson Brighton's new centre forward missed training today after picking up an injury in Saturday's opening 1-0 defeat at home to Walsall, and is a doubt for tonights match.
Brighton Manager Russell Slade said: "He took a bit of a bang on the ankle on Saturday and was very sore yesterday.
"He is still travelling with us in the 20-man squad and we are training in Swansea tomorrow, so we'll see how he does, we're hopeful." Former Swans player Kevin McLeod will probably start for The Albion.
