Match Preview - Swans v Reading

Last updated : 18 August 2009 By Row zz
The Swans take on Reading at the Liberty Stadium tonight looking for three points to get their season underway. Still without Bodde, Lopez, Pratley and  Allen in midfield, Sousa looks to start tonight's game with the same line-up that began against Middlesborough in our 0-3 defeat last Saturday. Paulo Sousa wants his team to play the whole 90 minutes the same way they played the first 30 minutes against Boro.

What we are looking for is a response following the Middlesbrough game," he said.

"We played well for the first 30 minutes but it's important that we get the right result against Reading and don't concede.

It is always important to win, but Reading are a good team with quality young players who play great football.

"They will bring us difficulties but we have to rise to the occasion and get the right result."

Reading are also still yet to win this season and are not without their own problems. Andre Bikey was sold to Burnley yesterday  for £2.8million and Rodgers could start with his youtful strikeforce of  James Henry and Shane Long, alongside Noel Hunt  in attack. Ingimarsson is still out long-term with a knee injury.

Swans (possible):De Vries, Angel, Monk, Williams, Tate, Dyer, Britton, MacDonald, Orlandi, Gower,  Dobbie. Subs: (from) Cornell, Collins, Bessone, Painter, Richards, Pintado, Morgan, Thomas, Bond.
