The defender missed the 1-1 draw at Doncaster and 2-1 home reverse to Portsmouth due to injury but has trained this week and is desperate to play a part in Saturday`s lunchtime kick-off.
"I`ve had no reaction to the calf problem in training this week. I am trying to push myself into contention but it`s up to the gaffer," he told Swansea`s official website.
"In my head I want to lead the team out but if he wants me to get another full week`s training under my belt then so be it."
Ipswich, who on Wednesday made the Carling Cup semi-finals, will likely be led in attack by Jason Scotland, who left the Liberty Stadium for a record fee of £2million to Wigan in summer 2009, while fellow former Swan Rory Fallon could also feature.
Monk added: "We must make sure they don`t get the opportunity to celebrate because there will be a few phone calls afterwards, especially from Jason."
