Monk Injury Blow For Swans.........

Just hours after watching his signed beat promotion favourites Tranmere Rovers on the opening day of the season, Kenny Jackett has received the news that Garry Monk will be out for at least a month. The influential defender picked up a leg injury in Saturday's victory and will be sorely missed by the Swans for the rest of August and the early weeks of September.

This latest news will be a major blow for Jackett, who is now likely to hand a starting place to ex-Manchester United full-back Alan Tate on Tuesday night. Monk is seen by many as the most important member of Swansea's back line and his absence can surely only weaken the side defensively.
