Reports from within the club have indicated that Swansea have moved quickly to fill the youth development position left available by last week's dismissal of Alan Curtis and are set to appoint ex-Swans David Moss and Huw Lake. The duo will take on the role with immediate effect and will be in charge of nurturing the club's youngsters with the aim of pushing more youth team players into the senior squad.
Like Alan Curtis, both Moss and Lake enjoyed brief spells as players at the Vetch Field but will now be given the job of healing a failing youth-team setup that has been the subject of much criticism by current manager Kenny Jackett. Lake made 19 appearances for the Swans in the early eighties and leaves his role as chief scout to focus on his new role. David Moss was signed from Scotland by Nicky Cusack in the summer of 2002, but made only a handful of appearances before being released later that season by Brian Flynn.
The club are expected to make a formal announcement tomorrow.
