On-form youth striker Chad Bond has joined Newport County on loan for a month in a bid to further develop his talent. The Welsh Under-19 International has been playing well of late, scoring two in last week's reserves victory against Yeovil and netting for the senior side in the FAW Premier Cup and Newport manager John Cornforth is extremely happy to have secured his services.
"I spoke to Neville Southall about him, who took him on tour last year with the Wales squad, and he gave the lad a high recommendation", Cornforth told the South Wales Argus. "We are getting him at a great time because he is bang in form and hopefully he will hit the ground running".
Bond will go straight into the squad to face Margate in Newport's crucial midweek fixture, as they aim to fight their way up the table and away from their current position - just one point above the relegation zone.
