The Football League have announced the official League One fixtures for next season and announced that Swansea's White Rock Stadium will host it's first ever competitive match on the opening day of the season. Tranmere Rovers, the side that eventually ended Swansea's dazzling FA Cup run in the fifth round two years ago and who narrowly missed out on promotion through the playoffs last year, will be the visitors in South Wales on August 6th, which is likely to attract a bumper crowd.
Swansea's first month in their return to League One will be very tricky, with ex-League Two champions Doncaster also visiting the White Rock, amongst away trips to Colchester United, Walsall and Huddersfield.
Other interesting dates before Christmas, show the Swans hosting rivals Bristol City (10th Sep), ex-European giants Nottingham Forest (24th Sep) and a return to Rotherham (22nd Oct). The Christmas schedule has not been kind to the Swans, with a home match against Gillingham sandwiched in between away trips to Brentford (Boxing Day) and Swindon (New Year's Eve) respectively.
A trip to Nottingham Forest's City Ground is on the cards on 11th Feb, before the season ends with Southend at the White Rock on 29th Apr and Chesterfield away seven days later.
