In a dull encounter, Swansea were held to a goal-less draw by their local League of Wales outfit Port Talbot, with a number of senior players present. Kevin Nugent was in charge of a second-string Swans side, while Kenny Jackett watched on from the stands for the hastily-arranged friendly.
Brian Murphy, Andy Gurney, Ijah Anderson, Mark Pritchard and Kevin Nugent all played some part in the fixture, that allowed the on-looking Kenny Jackett to take a look at his second string in action. The suspended Andy Robinson also played in the centre of midfield for the visitors as he continues to wait impatiently for his 5-game ban to subside.
Trialist Minabo Asechemie made his second appearance for the Swans in the more familiar position of centre midfield, but will have every reason to be slightly disappointed with his performance. However, Kenny Jackett appears keen on the Nigerian International and Asechemie may well be given a second chance to impress the Swans boss.
An unknown French trialist also played part of the fixture in defence and looked relatively comfortable, although slightly lightweight when under pressure.
The reserves will again be in action next Wednesday when they face a trip to Yeovil in the opening fixture of the Pontins' Combination League.
