Swansea full-back Sam Ricketts has pulled out of the Welsh International training camp next week due to his trouble-some hernia-like injury. Kenny Jackett announced the decision after Ricketts was forced out of the FAW Premier Cup Final on Wednesday and is in urgent need of rest.
Ricketts developed the symptoms of the mysterious injury two months ago, yet opted to play through the pain barrier to help his Swansea side earn automatic promotion. However, with promotion decided last weekend, Ricketts has now been told to rest for six-weeks, which will take him to just a week before the start of pre-season training.
The full-back is the eleventh member of the original Welsh squad to pull out of the training camp, along with John Hartson, Craig Bellamy and Ryan Giggs.
