The Swans are looking to become the first of the two local rivals to ever claim a league double in the same season following their 1-0 triumph in the Welsh capital in November.
Unsurprisingly, these derby clashes always seem to eclipse the previous as the biggest in Welsh football history and with Swansea just two points ahead of Cardiff in the race for promotion, Sunday`s meeting is no different.
Rodgers told Swansea`s official website: "Their squad is as strong as it gets in this division, particularly when you look at the players they have at the top end of the field. It`s a difficult task to contain them but we were outstanding at their place earlier in the season and we`re looking for a similar performance on Sunday.
"I respect them - they have a terrific manager and some terrific players and we know there`s a threat there. But if we play with the aggression and the charisma we showed at Bristol City (where the Swans won 2-0 in midweek) we have a good chance."
It will be Rodgers` first home derby in charge of the club, and he added: "They all tell me about the atmosphere at the Liberty with the acoustics we have got and I`m really excited about what is a very big game."
