The Swans boss has previously said he is on the lookout for defensive and midfield reinforcements, with strength at the back a particular concern after Alan Tate broke his leg in a golf buggy accident on Sunday. While Rodgers would not be drawn on which individuals he is looking to bring in, he hopes there will be a few deals done during the course of the day.
He told Sky Sports News: "Defence is an area I have felt we needed to strengthen. But we want to bring in the best players we can, I don't want to just stockpile players. We want players who can add to our group."
The south Wales club have been linked with moves for Fulham's Rafik Halliche, Middlesbrough's Matthew Bates and Watford's Adrian Mariappa.
He added: "We will try and do our business behind the scenes and once we confirm any deals we will make that news.
"I hope to bring in up to three, maybe a maximum of four, and I will be relatively happy."
