Many supporters who turned up for Swansea's friendly against Hereford would have been extremely suprised to see the return of Sean Byrne. Yet even more mysterious, was the appearance of the previously unheard of Sheldon Lawrence. So who exactly is he??
Hoping to earn a contract in the English Leagues, Sheldon Lawrence is a native of "footballing giants" St Kitts & Nevis. Lawrence is virtually an unknown on the continent, despite being last season's captain of the national side's Under-23 Olympic Qualifying squad.
In fact, defender Lawrence impressed so much during St Kitts' fixture against USA last September, that he was singled out for an sporting scholarship from several top American colleges.
Whether or not Swans fans ever lay eyes on Lawrence again is another matter, and after his brief lethargic performance yesterday, it looks unlikely that Jackett will break the bank to add the colourful character to the Swansea squad. However, time will tell and it appears that Jackett is definitely looking to add yet another full back to the side, with recent trials for Duane Courtney, Byrne and now Lawrence.
