Former manager Paulo Sousa has thanked Swansea following his departure to npower Championship rivals Leicester. The Portuguese left the Swans for the Foxes a week ago replacing Nigel Pearson at the Walkers Stadium on a three-year deal. Sousa paid tribute to the supporters and players for their support during his year-long stay at the south Wales club. He said: "Now is the first time with matters having settled down that I have had chance to thank all of the fans at Swansea for their support throughout last season, and I wanted to do so before the new manager is appointed. "I have many fantastic memories from my time at Swansea, in particular the home win against Cardiff and the highest league position in 27 years. Our achievements will always remain with me and I am very proud of them. "I would also like to thank the players for their total commitment to our ideals and the effort they put in to last season."
