Lee Trundle is set to take his place on the Swansea bench on Saturday when Cheltenham travel to South Wales. Last season's top scorer has been plagued by injury in pre-season, but although not ready to make the starting line-up, Trundle looks set to grab a place on the bench with the hope of an appearance in the second half.
Trundle came through last night's reserve fixture unscathed, grabbing two goals in a 60-minute appearance. Kenny Jackett and assistant manager Kevin Nugent will be keeping an eye on his progress over the next few days, with the ex-Wrexham striker hoping to aid Swansea's goal-shy strike-force in Saturday's second home fixture of the new campaign.
The Vetch Field hero looks likely to be joined on the bench by new signing Adrian Forbes, who has recently been complaining of fatigue. Big things were expected of the ex-Luton winger, who has failed to deliver so far in the opening three matches of the season. The club are awaiting blood tests to find out the nature of Forbes' problem, with the winger likely to be replaced by Brad Maylett on Saturday.
