Swansea have announced a healthy £137k profit for the year ending on May 2004. This has proved an excellent turn-around for the South Wales club, who in previous years had made losses of over £400k and £1.3m respectively.
The main reason for the change has been due to an increase in turnover of over £1 million - mainly due to Swansea's FA Cup run last season. However, increased season ticket sales and gate receipts have also been noted as major reasons for the profit, coupled with the fact that the current Board has taken no money out of the club since it took over.
With the new 20,000 capacity stadium nearing completion and the side sitting in a positive position near the automatic promotion positions, the future certainly looks healthy and prosperous for Swansea City football club.
