Yet another Adrian Forbes goal defeated League Two's temporary leaders and cemented Swansea as promotion contenders. Another positive for Jackett's side will be the fact that so many of the chasing pack slipped up...allowing the Swans to pull slightly away from a number of promotion rivals. Swans MAD travels around the grounds to see how our rivals got on.......
Scunthorpe managed to pull off a hard-fought victory over last weekend's opponents Southend, courtesy of a late Paul Hayes goal. However, they were made to work hard for their victory and trailed early on to yet another goal from Fredy Eastwood. The largest attendance in the league watched on in astonishment as 9-man Bristol Rovers recovered from a two goal deficit to snatch a 2-2 draw with Yeovil. Both Dave Savage and Steve Elliot saw red for Rovers in the first half, but two goals from Junior Agogo rescued an unlikely point.
There were also draws for Macclesfield (1-1 with Cambridge), Boston (1-1 with Bury) and Wycombe (1-1 with Rushden). However, Mansfield were beaten 2-0 at Cheltenham by goals from Stefve Guinan and Brian Wilson.
Swansea now move two points clear of second-placed Scunthorpe and five points clear of the large bulk of playoff contenders. Victory over Darlington on Saturday is likely to push the Swans even further clear due to the fact that a number of their promotion rivals will be facing each other. Happy days at the Vetch Field!
