Swansea are looking set to offer ex-Leeds defender Stuart Edwards a trial when the club return for pre-season training in July. Despite never breaking into the first-team setup at Elland Road, Edwards has been a regular feature in the club's reserves over the past few seasons and is hoping to win a new deal after being released.
The Welsh full-back is a product of the famous Leeds Academy, that has produced such players as Alan Smith, Jonathan Woodgate and Paul Robinson over the past few seasons. Despite being regarded as a hot prospect for the future, the club have opted not to renew Edwards's contract, leaving the youngster searching for a club over the summer.
Edwards is described as a pacy, tough-tackling and predominantly right-sided full-back, who has been capped for his country at U19 level. The defender will become the third trialist to train with the Swans, joining Australian duo Gordon and Ramsey in July.
