Swansea have been drawn away at League Two side Torquay United in the first round of the LDV Vans Trophy, which was drawn live on Sky on Saturday morning. The tie sees the Swans return to Plainmoor for the first time since Boxing Day 2003, when the two sides sat out a dull 0-0 draw and will take place during the week of the 17th October.
The tie of the round is undoubtedly Nottingham Forest's trip to non-league Woking following the ex-European champions' fall to grace, whilst fellow relegated side Gillingham entertain Crawley Town. Colchester and Walsall have received byes in the southern section of the competition, in which Swansea were knocked out at Wycombe in round two last year.
