Reports in the Western Daily Press are claiming that Swansea have re-ignited their interest in Torquay striker Adebayo Akinfenwa and have had a £70k bid accepted by the club. Jackett had previously admitted his interest in the big forward earlier this month, yet pulled out of a potential move after learning that Torquay would be entitled to compensation as "Bayo" is only 23-years of age.
However, it appears that after the news that a deal for Andy Burgess has fallen through, Swansea are prepared to spend the £70k needed to make their second signing of the summer. Swansea will be hoping to push through a deal for Akinfenwa as soon as possible, with reports that Bristol City are also still interested in the powerful forward.
It is thought that Akinfenwa will hold talks with the Swans over the next 48 hours and Swansea fans could find themselves with two new signings to shout about by the weekend.
