Swansea City Ladies captain Natalie Ashford is confident of competing in their first Women's Champions League.The Swans qualified by winning the inaugural Welsh Women's Premier League and have landed in Slovenia where they face three tough group games.
First up is top seeds Bardolino Verona of Italy on Thursday, then hosts NK Krka on Saturday before Georgian outfit Baia Zugdidi follow next Tuesday.
"We feel pretty confident and we are prepared," Ashford told BBC Wales.
"We've got a strong side with a superb passing style and I think we are ready for it - our preparation has been second to none.
"I think it's [Bardolino Verona] is going to be a tough game, but if we play the way we can play and the way we've been coached, then I'm sure we will give them a good run for their money.
"We are positive we can come out of that game with something.
"Every game is going to be very hard. For us, it's a big step up in what we normally play, but we are confident as a team."
The winners of the seven groups qualify for the knock-out stage where they will join a host of other teams who have received byes taking the number of teams to 32.
