Speculation is mounting in Swansea that Bristol Rovers striker Lee Thorpe is set to complete a move to South Wales early next week. An unofficial website claims that Thorpe is set to join the Swans as back-up for the on-form Trundle and Connor, after Jackett failed with a previous bid for Grant Holt last week.
The much-travelled striker has fallen out of favour with Rovers manager Ian Atkins and failed to make the starting line-up for Saturday's 3-0 win over Grimsby. In more recent seasons, Thorpe has enjoyed relative success at Lincoln, Leyton Orient and Grimsby.
However, Swansea supporters will have to wait until Monday to discover whether or not this latest story is pure speculation or not, with Jackett being linked to a number of strikers up and down the country.
